Have you ever heard of using selsun blue shampoo on a baby?

my doctor told me to use this every other day on my baby because he has cradle cap.Have you ever heard of using selsun blue shampoo on a baby?
Yep!

It will help get rid of the ';cradle crap'; as we call it, you can also use regular baby shampoo and baby oil afterwards, but the Selsun won't hurt them one bit, just keep it out of their eyes.Have you ever heard of using selsun blue shampoo on a baby?
That doesn't sound safe. Use baby oil. Gently massage it in his scalp. You can also gently, very gently, scrape the cradle cap off with your finger nails. My boys had bad cradle cap and that's what I did. Softened it up with the oil and then gently scraped. It wasn't real bad, so it came off quickly and easily.
What kind of doctor told you this? A vet? I've been a nurse for 23 years and have never heard of doing this. That is way harsh for a baby's scalp.I would use a gentle baby shampoo and baby oil and gently massage the child's scalp. The cradle cap will resolve . I would talk with another pediatrician and think about changing doctors.
No please don't. That shampoo is highly medicated as well as toxic to use on a child. Cradle cap is not a disease, most newborns have it but it does go away. There is no harm in using baby shampoo every time you bathe him. Just try not to be too rough on it because you don't want him to have a sore scalp.
Not for a baby, the ingredients are too harsh for a baby's scalp, even with cradle cap. And holy hell, it would hurt baby's eyes so bad. Mineral oil is still the safest, most gentle means of clearing it up.
i have not heard of it but im sure ur doctor knows what he/she is talking about so try it just dont get it in ur babies eyes
Word of advice: that guy that deals you smack on the corner is not actually a licensed physician.
NOOOOO get cradle cap shampoo that is safe for babies! If that gets in his/her eyes it can mess them up! And cause them pain!! Get a new doctor!!!
i would just use lotion. baby oil works best.
No, never heard of using any selsun blue shampoo on a baby. I'd use Baby shampoo instead!
nope
No for a baby do not use shampoo

God is to take care and you !
mineral oil is better and cheaper
NO!!! OMG NO!!!!! For the love of God who is the Doctor?
sounds sensible!!
I'd get a second opinion!
I wouldn't do it, but I'm not a doctor. If you do be very careful of the eyes.
It seems to be very harsh for a baby's skin...plus if that got in its eyes!
Well no.
I've NEVER heard that. I heard of putting extra lotion or baby oil on it.... but selsun blue?

What next? Getting the extra hair a baby is born with WAXED?

Your doctor SCARES me!
No...

Don't think that's a good idea.
nope
well use it but keep out of the eyes .... and mayo enemas are great they are very soothing for an irritated anus ....

mayo is just oil and eggs all beat up .... just fill a turkey baster and insert and squeeze the bulb and voila there you are ready for the salad .....
