Why does Selsun Blue shampoo turn yellow near the bottom of the bottle? And is it OK to use?

I would buy a new bottle.


That has never happened to me with Selsun Blue.Why does Selsun Blue shampoo turn yellow near the bottom of the bottle? And is it OK to use?
It turns yellow becuase of the active ingredient inside (Selenium Sulfide). Some shampoo probably leaked outside of the bottle. The non-active ingriedents probably evaporated and the remains were Selenium Sulfide which is a yellow-orange powder. Dont Worrk, Just wash it away with water. Report Abuse
